Culinary Institute of America
The Chazen Companies completed field investigations, geotechnical engineering evaluations and reports for the new dormitory buildings currently under construction at the Culinary Institute of America located in the Town of Hyde Park, Dutchess County, New York. Additional investigations and reports were also prepared for the construction of a new Parking Garage, Terrace Structure, and a new Admissions Building. The reports included general site information, descriptions of the fieldwork performed, subsurface conditions, determination of an allowable soil bearing capacity and an analysis of the soils for settlement and/or liquefaction potential. In addition, recommendations for building and structure foundations, recommendations for subgrade preparation, and recommendations for use of on-site materials were provided for use in foundation and retaining wall design.
