Hudson Heritage Park
The proposed project, Hudson Heritage Park, will be a master planned development consisting of residential, commercial, and retail uses. This mixed-use community will be located on an approximately 158 (+/-) acre parcel on Route 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Formerly a part of New York State's Hudson River Psychiatric Center, the site contains a National Landmark Building, constructed by the State over several decades starting in the 1870's. Based on historical significance and topography, the site can be divided into two overall areas, which are referred to in this document as the Upper and Lower Campuses. The first phase includes rehabilitation and conversion of the Landmark Building, currently planned as a mix of approximately 300 market rate and affordable rental apartments and a 60 room Inn. Other phases may include adaptively redeveloping the remaining buildings in the Upper Campus into a mixture of residential and office uses, and a townhouse development to the north of the site. The adaptive reuse of existing buildings or the development of new structures as a mix of residential and commercial uses is proposed for the Lower Campus.
