Mid-Hudson Plaza
The Chazen Companies has a wealth of large-scale commercial development experience including both retail and food services companies. Included in this mix are the chains of Home Depot, Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Office Depot, Linens N Things, CVS, Eckerd Drugs, Thomasville Furniture and more. One of the more challenging projects that The Chazen Companies was integral in was an urban redevelopment project known as the Mid-Hudson Plaza. The property, located across NYS Route 9 from Marist College in the Town of Poughkeepsie was formerly an automobile production factory for Audi, dating back to the early history of the automotive industry. The site was fraught with environmental issues and was dominated by thousands of square feet of old industrial structures. Over several years of environmental remediation, demolition and negotiation with the Town of Poughkeepsie, Chazen was able to obtain closure on all environmental issues and developed a comprehensive redevelopment plan for the entire property.
Overall services included site survey, environmental remediation, site design and landscape architectural detailing, multiple NYSDOT curb cut permits, coordination with NYSDOT on three new signalized intersections and site planning for multiple new tenants all brought through the review, approval and construction phases of each individual tenants development projects.
