Chazen Cares

Chazen understands the importance of giving back to the community. We strongly encourage our employees to actively participate in the communities in which they live and work. Some examples of the organizations Chazen and its employees contribute to, work with, and hold leadership positions include:

CANstruction 2019

Team Chazen returned for the second year as a competitor at the  Capital Region CANstruction competition.  The 2019 theme was Disney!  After months of planning and fundraising, Chazen raised over $5,000 to create Ursula the Sea Witch entirely out of canned goods.  Her mission was "Stuck on Sinking Hunger" and she certainly will help many!

All the funds and cans that were used to create the CANstructure are donated to local food pantries to help feed those in need.

Thank you to everyone who supported our build!

Teddy Bear Drive

Chazen collected dozens of Teddy Bears and stuffed animals for The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.  Each child that comes to The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse is given a bear of their choice to help begin the healing process.

Thank you to the CPCA for the important work you do for children, families and our community and thank you for allowing us to be a small part of it.

CANstruction 2018

Chazen has successfully completed its first CANstruction Build, where we took Paddington Bear on a Quest to Feed the Capital!  At the completion of the event, Chazen received the “Best Signage Board”  Award for 2018. This award is given to a build team that excels in design for their accompanying signage - by tying together the theme, design concept, and story behind the CANstructure.   In addition, after a 2 week display, Chazen's Paddington Bear received the "People's Choice" Award.  Votes were collected based on can donations during the two week exhibit display. Paddington collected 1,372 cans (votes), a record number for the 8 year event.

Chazen alone raised $5,288 and used 2,920 food items to build our structure! Every can is donated to The Food Pantries for the Capital District to help feed families in the Capital Region, through more than 60 food pantries in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady Counties.

Rebuilding Together

Ed Larkin, Principal, Director of Code Services, has volunteered with Rebuilding Together in Saratoga County for the past ten years.  In his current role, Ed is the President of the Board of Directors. In addition, he has organized Chazen’s annual Rebuilding Together volunteer projects for the past seven years and counting. These projects bring employees together from multiple offices to achieve the common goal of helping individuals in our community that are in dire need of assistance.

Rebuilding Together is a national organization that partners with volunteers to ensure homeowners in need can continue to live in safe and healthy homes, and helps to revitalize and support our communities through both residential projects and community builds. They just recently celebrated the grand opening of their new headquarters and store in Ballston Spa.
