Chazen provided structural analysis, design, detailing, specifications and construction phase services for this 17,000-square foot, two-story terminal and canopy expansion. In addition to traditional reinforced concrete foundations and structural steel framing, notable design feature included an auger cast-in-place concrete pile foundation system, 50-foot steel trusses, a cantilevered composite steel deck system and an external elevator shaft. A radial construction grid system added an additional level of complexity to the design. Construction phase services included shop drawing review and concrete strength evaluation.
