Capital Roots – Permeable Parking Lot

August 2, 2017

As an extension of the Urban Grow Center and with a business master plan in mind, Chazen prepared a second EFC GIGP application for Capital Roots for funding to build a permeable parking lot along Jay Street between 5th Avenue and Earl Street. The parking lot would develop an otherwise “blighted” area into a small yet visually sensitive and environmentally friendly parking area with associated landscaping. The lot proposed to use a combination of grass pavers within parking spaces and gravel pavers within the drive isle which create an innovative and effective design. When public grant monies become available again, Capital Roots will resubmit the grant application for consideration.
