Fleischman’s Pier

August 9, 2017

The original Fleischmann’s Pier on the Hudson River in Peekskill was built in 1938 and is currently used primarily for recreational fishing and crabbing. The City selected a team including Chazen to reconstruct and lengthen the prominently located Pier to enhance its utility and aesthetics.

Chazen’s services include survey, utility location, and an assessment of the effects of sea level rise. Chazen also completed a regulatory permitting feasibility assessment with recommendations on how to integrate agency comments into the design process.

Final designs and permit applications are being prepared. The new pier demonstrates ecological sensitivity and incorporates expanded access, multi-use programming, and pedestrian connectivity to other ongoing waterfront improvements on the Hudson River.
