Brookwood Secure Center

The potable water for Brookwood Secure Center and Columbia Secure Center are supplied from the nearby Town of Greenport. An existing 50,000-gallon elevated water storage tank on site provides fire and drinking water storage for the two facilities. The tank was constructed in the early 1960s, and inspections indicated it is approaching the end of its useful life. South Beach Psychiatric Center

Chazen provided code compliance reviews of the 40,000-square foot Central Services Building constructed through a design-build contract at the South Beach Psychiatric Center. The scope of work included plan review of civil/site, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems and fire protection systems. Chazen worked directly with NYSOGS and the design team on code evaluations and resolution of issues pertaining to codes and regulatory requirements. NYSDOT Salt Storage Buildings

In conjunction with OGS and NYSDOT, Chazen facilitated the design and construction of seven new salt storage buildings, ranging in capacity from 600-3,000 tons, at existing DOT maintenance facilities in Clinton, Steuben, Suffolk and Rockland Counties. The intent of the projects was to replace deteriorating structures and provide additional salt storage capacity to support maintenance operations. Niagara Falls State Park

Chazen assisted the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in developing a re-imagined parkland design and construction documents for a new 5-acre landscape entrance to Niagara Falls State Park and the main Visitor Center. Key elements include the creation of large sweeping walkways that lead from the City of Niagara Falls into the Park and opening views from the streetscape toward the Visitor Center. Office of Children and Family Services

This project includes the relocation of the existing secure perimeter fence at the Industry Secure Center as well as the construction of a six-bay maintenance garage, new access road, grading and drainage. The fence relocation will allow the existing fuel islands and the facility maintenance operations to be outside of the secure perimeter. Field investigations advanced during the design phase included utility markout, soil testing for stormwater design, hazardous materials investigations, survey, SEQR and EAF coordination. Camp Smith Water Tank Replacement

As part of Chazen’s term services agreement with OGS, Chazen was retained to assist with the replacement of the water storage tank at the Camp Smith Training Site in Cortlandt. Chazen provided engineering design support for the replacement of the existing 500,000-gallon water storage tank with an Aquastore® glass-fused-to-steel tank. Hudson Correctional Facility Evaluation and Replacing of Storm Sewer

The existing storm sewer collection system at the Hudson Correctional Facility is approaching the end of its useful life and requires replacement to function properly. The Facility was constructed in the early 1900s with additions in the 1950s and 1960s with much of the existing storm sewers original to the site. Chazen performed an onsite evaluation of the entire storm sewer network to determine the extent of the replacement required.
