Chazen collaborated with the Land Trust of Tennessee’s design team to prepare and assess various alternative development plans for the Stephens Valley large-scale community. By conserving natural resources and open spaces, the alternative development plans aimed to enhance the quality of life for residents of Stephens Valley while protecting one of the most scenic landscape views from the historic Natchez Trace Parkway.

Chazen prepared detailed site/civil engineering design services for a new 3-story student center at the heart of the 55-acre campus. The new student center uses dynamic interior and exterior spaces for positive social interaction while providing the school with enhanced venues for academic dining and assembly events.
Chazen prepared detailed site development/civil engineering plans for a new 35-acre campus with three new rustic-contemporary, one-story buildings. The site was configured to emphasize the school’s connection with the outdoor environment. Following the grand opening, Chazen prepared supplemental civil engineering plans for a new chapel, student cabin and storage shed along with an assessment of possible alternative sewage disposal systems to support additional students and faculty.

Chazen prepared the master plan and detailed site development/civil engineering plans for numerous neighborhoods within this unique community located minutes from downtown Chattanooga. A variety of architecture styles are connected by tree-lined sidewalks, park-like open spaces and walking trails.
Chazen prepared detailed site development/civil engineering plans for a mixed-use, urban infill development containing two retail spaces and three-single family residences. This project fosters integration, density and compatibility of residential and commercial uses within Nashville’s Sylvan Park neighborhood.
